Welcome Episcopalians!

to the pbworks wiki site

This is a wiki website. Wiki websites are used for groups of people to collaborate on ideas and projects. This site originated as a response to the #ecgc twitter community (the tweetipalians). Many of us so enjoyed sharing ideas that we wanted to try to maintain the energy and see what might develop. By using a wiki platform, we can explore a bunch of different ideas, try crazy experiments, or just share information. The great thing about a wiki is that everybody can add pages, edit pages, etc ... For example, if you don't like this paragraph you're reading; you can click on the edit view and change it however you want. Maybe you think it should be written in Latin, or pig-latin. If the next person who looks at this page thought my pulitzer-prize-winning-style of writing was better, they can change it back.

The point is ... don't be afraid to try whatever you want. Here, you are free to fail !!!!!

Wow! What's a wiki? What can we do here? It's all pale blue/white and tan, kind of like a new house that needs to be decorated! Hopefully we can add some color together! I think we should ask GC for a virtual blessing for a wiki. Can we see if they could add that to a request to the Standing Committee on Prayerbook and Liturgy for consideration at the 2012 convention in Indianapolis?
Maybe I'll read the manual. :)

C056, speaking to blessings for same-sex couples, charged the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music to "collect and develop theological, and liturgical resources and report to the 77th General Convention" and to "devise an open process for the conduct of its work inviting participation from provinces, dioceses, congregations, and individuals who are engaged in such theological work, and inviting theological reflection from throughout the Anglican Communion." Finally it asked that "the members of this Church be encouraged to engage in this effort." To that end, it occurred to me that a Wiki might be a great place for some of us interested in this to make a start that we might later contribute to the Standing Commission. I was thinking that we might start a page that would allow us to "contribute resources" and to develop discuss what such a rite/rites, resources might be like. Is there any interest in the other Wiki members? If so, I'll go ahead and create a page to get us started.

Great idea, Jeffrey. Create a page! We've got some time to "contribute resources".
